What counts as factory personnel?

Factory personnel means employees directly involved in production, maintenance, or material handling within a manufacturing facility. This includes machine operators, line supervisors, maintenance technicians, and warehouse staff who operate powered equipment. Office-only staff, administrative roles, and personnel not assigned to the production floor are outside the scope of our certification programs.

Are simulators accepted as proof of competence?

Simulator sessions are a training component, not a final assessment. They build familiarity with controls, load dynamics, and emergency procedures before a candidate touches live equipment. Certification requires a separate hands-on evaluation on actual machinery under supervised conditions. Simulator records support the training log but do not replace the practical exam.

How are certification levels structured?

Each equipment category has three tiers: Operator, Advanced Operator, and Technical Specialist. The first tier covers safe operation and routine checks. The second adds complex load handling, multi-step workflows, and fault recognition. The third includes diagnostics, preventive maintenance coordination, and the ability to train other operators. Progression between tiers requires both classroom hours and documented field experience.

What is the validity period of a certificate?

Certificates are valid for two years from the date of the practical exam. Recertification involves a shortened refresher module and a re-assessment of core competencies. If an operator has a documented incident or a gap of more than six months without operating the equipment, the facility should request an earlier evaluation. We issue a reminder notice sixty days before expiration.

Can training be conducted on-site?

Yes. For groups of six or more, we bring instructors and portable training materials to your facility. On-site programs use your existing equipment for the practical portion, which means assessments reflect your actual machinery and layout. For smaller groups or specialized equipment, sessions are held at our Ipoh training center with dedicated simulators and test rigs.
